From the age of six, I wanted to teach! I began my career in New York City teaching reading and English at The Browning School and then at Buckley, both independent boys’ schools. In 1982, I joined the Pingry faculty. Our community is comprised of bright, enthusiastic, compassionate, and honorable people. I relish the latitude we have in creating, expanding, and tailoring our curriculum. For example, a colleague and I recently designed a study skills course for our fifth-grade students. A unique experience for Pingry is that for 12 years, Porterhouse, my 100-pound black Labrador retriever, spent one day each week in my classroom. His calm and gentle presence truly had a special impact on hundreds of children and adults.
With 35 years of teaching behind me, I still want to teach…and right here at Pingry is just perfect!
