Important: Honeywell Instant Alert System Test

Although it is difficult to think about snow and ice right now during these early days of fall, we do have to anticipate the possibility of a school closing due to inclement weather or an emergency.

Honeywell Instant Alert is the Internet-based system Pingry uses for notifying everyone of such events as school closings or other urgent news (snow days, delayed openings, early dismissals, etc.). Messages are delivered by phone, email, and/or text message—based upon your personal selections of which phone numbers and email addresses you provide in your profile. Many in our Pingry community have already updated their profiles on the Honeywell Instant Alert web site, but a number of you have not.

We are testing our Honeywell Alert system in the early evening of Wednesday, October 24. If you have not registered as a new user or updated your profile, please do so as soon as possible before the test date by following the instructions posted here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your Honeywell Instant Alert account is completely separate from the database Pingry uses for school communication and for The Pingry Family Directory! Updating one does NOT automatically update the other. Even if you have already provided the school with updated email addresses or phone numbers, you ALSO have to personally make those changes to your Honeywell Instant Alert account! For your security, your family profile on the Honeywell system is password-protected with your own login name and password. Pingry therefore cannot make any Honeywell system information changes or updates on your behalf—you must make those yourself.

We are testing our Honeywell Alert system in the early evening of Wednesday, October 24. If you have not registered as a new user or updated your profile, please do so as soon as possible before the test date by following the instructions previously emailed to all Pingry parents. Our test will then be more effective because you will know definitively whether you have received our test message at each of the numbers and/or email addresses in your profile.
